According to the IRS, Jarrett’s Joy Cart, Inc. is a registered 501(c)3 public charity. Contributions to our program are deductible under Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. Funding for the cart is provided both by monetary and toy donations from individuals, groups and businesses. Monetary donations are used to purchase toys and gifts when inventory is low. Jarrett’s Joy Cart is an all volunteer organization, and less than 10 cents of every dollar donated goes for minor operational expenses. Toys given out generally range in value from $8 to $15. All donated toys must be new and in original packaging.
The organization’s fiscal year runs from January 1 through December 31.
Multiple Jarrett’s Joy Carts exist around the country. While every chapter shares Jarrett’s mission and message, each is a separate entity in terms of all business, financial, liability and inventory issues.
